Mother of Mercy Bereavement Ministry
Meetings are held on the 4th Sunday of the month in the New Parish Hall* from 3:00-4:30pm.
*Meetings are occasionally held off-campus; please check the bulletin or reach out to the ministry leaders for more specifics.
Mother of Mercy Bereavement Ministry exists to serve the emotional and spiritual needs of all interested adult parishioners who are mourning the loss of a loved one. It is grounded upon prayer, compassion, and confidentiality. Encouraged development for growth in personal experiences dealing with death and the grieving process are particular points of approach with the group. A compassionate heart and a love for Christ and His people is all that is required to volunteer.
Mary, Mother of Mercy is the guiding light for this group. Each of the seven monthly sessions is dedicated to Mary’s Seven Sorrows. The primary goal is to increase devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary thus enabling the grieving to draw on their Faith for comforting support and gentle guidance during this very trying time. This helps them to unite their sorrow and grief to the life of Mary and the Passion of Jesus Christ. The next goal is for members to grow in the Hope of our Faith found in the Resurrection.
