Liturgical Service
Altar Servers:
Altar servers (4th-12th grade) assist the priest by preparing the vessels for the altar and aiding the celebrant with liturgical functions. For information concerning training sessions, please call the parish office.
Current altar servers: Access the schedule here (password required).
Altare Dei:
This dedicated team of people takes care of the important details that make our Masses and Liturgies more beautiful. Their work includes care of plants and decoration of the church for holidays.
Extraordinary Ministers of the Eucharist:
Extraordinary Ministers of the Eucharist assist with the distribution of Holy Communion at Mass and elsewhere as needed. They are appointed by the Bishop at the discretion of the Pastor and follow a three year schedule.
Lectors:
These volunteers participate in both Sunday and daily Masses.
Ushers:
St. Timothy’s Ushers play an important role at each of our weekend Liturgies. At each Mass, they greet and help to seat parishioners, take up the offertory collection, facilitate the lines for the reception of Holy Communion, assist parishioners as needed during Mass, and hand out bulletins after Mass. We are currently in need of volunteers to serve as Ushers, especially at the Saturday 5:30 pm, Sunday 7:30 am, Sunday 10:45 am, and Sunday 5:30 pm Masses; or as substitute Ushers when needed for all Masses. Training will be provided. If you’re interested in serving as an Usher, please contact George Stalcup at ghstalcup@cox.net or at 703-830-4798. You may also call the Parish office at 703-378-7646.
